Ultimate Street Tuner Carnival 2007

Went to USTC (the largest outdoor modified cars showcase in south East Asia) at Bukit Jalil with my family yesterday and it's pretty great and interesting. Although I'm not such a HUGE fan of modified cars, I gotta say most of the cars were very cool (+ artful) and I was impressed.

Besides, my family and I dropped by at M-Tech booth (M-Tech is where dad works at) and they exhibited mainly car accessories like car audio/hi-fi. Got to sample some sound and music and I gotta say it's superb, very different from other car audio which I normally listen to. However I can never imagine how much it cost. A whopping RM40 K for the whole set... yes, RM40 000! Well, I guess that's what luxurious stuff all about, and if I have RM40K, I think I'd get a car instead.

Meanwhile, I also took some pictures and would like to share with ya all.

A white modified MyVi,
& there's even a car TV

Looks grand

Can you spot Mickey?

A yellow Mini Cooper with Mickey theme

Among all the cars, this is my fave.
Full of creativity.

Honda cars in a row... simply chic!

Cool lookin' doors with lights

This car got many awards, which you can see...
but I ain't like the colour,
too orange

With some zebra skin patterns

There're more pictures actually (especially great looking sporty cars), but too bad my camera ran out of battery. I even thought of posing with the cars but then again, too bad... Should have charged the batteries longer, ish, ish, ish!

Anyway, I got my pictures taken with two pretty, friendly and down-to-earth models at M-Tech Booth earlier, so here are they.

Sitting and posing at the back of the car :)

Simply lovely

Drunken Chicken

According to Wikipedia, Drunken chicken is the name given to several different ways of preparing chicken using alcoholic beverages.

In Chinese cuisine, drunken chicken (Traditional Chinese: 醉雞; Simplified Chinese: 醉鸡; pinyin: zuìjī) is a unique cold meat dish. The whole chicken is first steamed and then chopped up into pieces appropriately sized for picking up by chopsticks. It is usually cooked with scallions, ginger and salt. The resulting meat juices are kept with the meat. The chicken pieces are allowed to cool. Then some liquor is poured over the cooked pieces. The liquor might be Chinese wine, sherry or hard liquor like whiskey. The meat marinades in the liquor overnight in the refrigerator. The dish is served chilled, often as an appetizer. Besides the liquor-flavored meat, another feature of the dish is the liquor-flavored gelatin that results from the chilled mixture of the alcohol and the cooking juices.

Looking back, the last time I had chilled drunken chicken (without the soup) was quite sometime ago, and I had it with my family at Dragon-i. It was delicious and I liked it a lot. Anyway, the main reason I posted this today is because I had drunken chicken soup for dinner yesterday and I gotta say it satisfied my taste buds. Well, I used to dislike it (even hated it due to the aroma) but as time goes by, I'm beginning to like it more and more. After all, drunken chicken itself or soup is good indeed as it fortifies your body system & boost your blood circulation. :)

Drinking alcoholic beverages may get me drunk, but drinking drunken chicken soup is fine, so yeah, give me a bowl of that... anytime, tee-hee! :P

No Electricity

Lil' rant

There's a power failure at my place + neighbourhood few hours ago and as a result, I could not do many things.

It's just so inconvenient, darn it
.

But thank goodness it's OK now, and I'm back to cheery mood. :)

Sales = Save $$$

I'm not a certified shopholic nor a professional, but I gotta say shopping is such a feel-good-thing. Well, I simply love shopping, and I love it even more especially during sales as it enables me to get a good deal by buying or purchasing an item at a discount price. In other words, save cash / money. :D

... And now I have two swimwear as I bought a new one during Jusco sales last Saturday. It's a 2 piece bikini by Arena and I gotta say I like it lots. Eventually I didn't intend to get a new one, but at best buy deal plus an additional 15% discount, it's just too hard to resist. After all, the price was darn low and at least, I can have two different swimwear and simply switch whenever I want to, tee-hee.

Now, I just can't wait and am looking forward to Malaysia's Mega Sale Carnival *wide grin*

What Sunscreen Is Best For You
By Ezilon.com Articles
Feb 1, 2006, 20:55

Do you live an active lifestyle outside and yet want to remain fresh and glamorous at all times? Usually when you go out regularly in the sun your skin tends to catch a severe tan that seems to become permanent. The best way to escape from such regular tanning is using a sunscreen lotion that will keep you fresh and fair all the time. With beauty becoming an important part of one’s life the variety of sunscreen available in the market saves you from tanning.

Importance of sunscreen for your skin

Sunscreens are important to your skin because whenever you are exposed to sunrays the UV rays constantly tend to burn your skin thereby giving you a constant tan. Basically even at low exposure levels the UVA rays from the sun destroys your skins support structure, breaks down collagen and causes wrinkles and sagging of skin. The sunscreens save you from tanning, sagging and wrinkling of your skin. So everyone should use a sunscreen to save his or her own self.

While you use a sunscreen you should know which one is best for you. If you simply want protection from UVA and UVB rays then look for a sunscreen that will contain either of the three products like zinc oxide, avobenzene and titanium dioxide. The sunscreens are usually made to prevent suntans, sunburns and skin cancers that are caused from the UVB rays of the sun.

When you apply the sunscreen lotions, creams and liquids, they penetrate into the inner depths of the skin and protect the upper layers where actually skin cancer is formed. They also help retain the moisture in the skin and prevent severe wrinkling and sagging even at old ages.

Sunscreen that best suits your skin

The sunscreens should contain SPF factor, which determine how much protection your skin will get at a time. The more the number of SPF factor is the more protection it provides to the skin. For example SPF 15 prevents burning of skin while SPF 30 prevents aging, wrinkling and sagging of skin. However you should know which sunscreen is best for your skin:
 Meroxyl rich sunscreen – protect your skin from immature wrinkles.
 A+ sunscreen – an ultra protection water based sunscreen that should be applied with moisturizer and foundation if you want protection against suntans.
 Body sunscreen – a long lasting lotion that prevents wrinkles, sagging and suntan in the full body.
 For dry skin – use sunscreen with SPF 30 that guards skin against aging and skin cancer.
 For oily skin – if you want oil free skin use noncomedogenic sunscreen with SPF 15 or even higher for better results.
 Facial sunscreens – the moisturizing day care sunscreen lotions and creams with SPF 15 and 30 are best for any type of facial skin types.

You should apply the sunscreen with SPF 15 at least even if it’s a cloudy day or you are staying inside your home.
Following are the other specifications of using sunscreen lotion:
 Look for the words “broad spectrum protection” in the labels.
 Apply more sunscreen when you are in reflective surfaces like water, snow and ice.

Knowing the utility of the best sunscreen lotions use them to achieve maximum comfort and protection from the harmful sunrays.

Well, I used to skip slathering on sunscreen (during my beauty regime) but I begin to realize it's really important as it protects my skin from the damaging effects from sun exposure (although I don't stay out in the sun that much). Currently, I'm using Loreal UV Perfect [XL Block] SPF50/PA+++ and I gotta say it's my favourite and I rate it as truly one of my make-up and beauty gem. It's simply great as it strengthens skin visibly, provides moisture and prevents skin darkening and ageing, and in other words, superb protection. Now, I just can't leave home without it. :)

Pitter-Patter

Rain is one of the eternal sounds, like wind and waves, and as I was listening to the rain pitter-pattering on my house roof a few minutes ago, I gotta say it's very soothing and comforting, and even can lull me to a good sleep. According to Sound Sleeping, relaxing music and nature sound (like rain) can aid sleep, reduce stress, and provide a relaxing atmosphere.

Although there is goodness in rain, I dislike rain at times especially when it comes pouring down heavily like cats and dogs, with flashes of lightning and roar of thunders. As a result, it may hamper outdoor activities, damage electrical goods (due to lightning & thunder) and also, it tend to be pretty gloomy where there's only dark clouds hanging in the skies, and that's when I begin to think rain is not really soothing.

Oh well, I was whining about rain a little bit, but heck, I still gotta say rain is not that bad after all as it mainly depends on situations. Perhaps next time when there's HEAVY and "never-ending" rain, I should put something like this up on my window. *grins*

Minutes to Midnight

It's been quite sometime since I last heard of Linkin Park, and looking back, I think it has been almost 3-4 years since their last album 'Meteora' dominated the music chart. Well, I do have most of the albums and I gotta say I like their music lots (which is in the genre of nu metal) which I think is really cool.

According to MTV.com, 'Minutes to Midnight' will be a different album as nu-metal sound will be completely gone. However, no matter what genre and style it is, I believe it's gonna be a great one.

Meanwhile, here is 'What I've Done', the first single off the new album.

*Minutes to Midnight (highly anticipated album of the year) is hitting stores on May 15, so to all Linkin Park fans out there, remember to get yourself a copy. :)

Mobile Phone Charm / Dangly

My Special got me a new mobile phone charm, which is also known as dangly. I learned that new word from the internet and I think 'dangly' sounds pretty cool although 'charm' sounds sweeter, and this actually reminds me of several charm bracelets that I have.

I took two pictures of my new accessory (using dad's old SE K750i) and I thought of posting them on my blog. Previously, I was using a heart-shaped charm which is also a gift from my Special.

Baby Sand + a sweet and lovely phone charm/dangly.

A pinky with a bell, tee-hee...

I opened my phone and voila- a lovely, lovely wallpaper of my Special & I, glowing blue lights on the keypads and sweet pinky resting at the side. :D

*To my Special, I like the phone charm / dangly very much, and I wanna say thanks again my dear. Muuaakx! :X
